1997 TVR Chimaera 500

This car has had considerable works carried out prior to the current owner and has a considerable history file. Rosso Pearl with grey interior and walnut dash. Don't be fooled by the 116k miles this is a V8 rebuild with only 15k miles on it. At 101k miles, engine and gearbox came out. While out, all the chassis rails were treated and painted. The engine had a complete rebuild and gearbox was fully refurbished both by TVR specialists in England. The clutch had already been replaced at 92k miles and is good.
More recently it has had new outriggers, a $2k+ CANEMS ECU upgrade, new fuel pipes, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk to provide the passenger with greater legroom. This is the 3rd TVR that I have imported to Texas from the UK (all from the same trusted TVR specialist in England) and was the one that I was planning to keep as it is the rare 5 liter engine however, downsizing to a smaller house and garage means something has to give...sadly, the Chimaera. I had the following work completed prior to import: Full 12k mile service, new engine mounts, new gearbox mounts, new Poly bushes for suspension and differential, new sump gasket. More recently, I have fitted a new Walnut Veneer dashboard to the interior. The carpets, however, do show age and my plan was to purchase a new set from the UK and fit them myself which would transform the interior.
This car has an additional Surrey Roof that folds down into a small bag - this was a $800 bespoke option that I purchased from the UK and will be included if the car sells at the advertised price (negotiable otherwise). You may see from the photos that the Surrey Roof looks darker than the faded targa part of the roof - new photos will follow but I have refurbished the entire roof (re-coloring using Renovo dye before waterproofing the entire top. One point of note is a small 2cm crack in the plastic rear screen that has been repaired and is waterproof it has worked for me but my long-term plan was to have the plastic insert replaced if I kept the car.
The bodywork and paintwork are good. Paintwork is not represented as perfect but perfectly presentable - as imported, the car has a low graze (approx. 10cm x 10cm) on front driver s side corner (see photo) and some stone chips. Additionally, there is a very small (approx. 2.5cm x 2.5cm) clear coat imperfection on the hood. The tires are old although good. This car receives comments wherever it goes - perfect for someone wanting to add further value to this rare car.

1995 TVR Griffith 500 Absolutely stunning Olympic Blue Pearl original paint with vinyl white stripe, right hand drive, full leather interior. Excellent condition and garaged life of car. Third owner. Never tracked. Factory Specs : 340hp 5.0 liter V8 power for 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and a top speed approaching 170mph. New Odyssey lightweight high CCA battery and quality charger, cover, spares, factory security system and 2 key fobs with notebook with all records, MOT certificate and information, receipts, owners manual and Chimaera/Griffith Handbook (2nd edition). Excellent condition for a 40-year-old all original car. Approx. 29,427 original miles. I m only the third owner and have owned it for the last 21 years. I have only put about 500 miles on it, driving it only on spring and summer weekends in nice weather. This stunner won a few car show trophies back in the day (before life got in the way) in the British category. Truly babied, never abused, and always garage kept. Still has the original interior, tho could probably use a bit of TLC as leather is aged and carpet is faded. Car has all original manufacturer s spec badges. Ford V6 engine with Bosch fuel injection starts right up and still roars with a strong growl; 4-spd manual transmission shifts smooth as butter; and brakes work great. As TVR enthusiasts know, the Wedge had a limited production run with only about 1,100 made before imports to the US market stopped around 1987. Unique opportunity to own a rare vehicle. This vintage speed demon has a fiberglass body that sits on a tubular spaceframe steel chassis. The boot (trunk) still has the jack and the storage bag to keep the convertible top. Known gremlins since the day I bought her: 1. headlights may need rewiring as they sometimes alternately flip up and down, 2. missing door lock stems. Looking for someone to love her and have fun like I did.

Registered by TVR NA as a 1980 model. Beautiful black roadster with polished T-slot wheels. Biscuit interior complete with custom Coco mats including trunk mat. Custom tool roll. Period cassette deck. Three prior documented owners from new. Complete with side curtains and soft top. Front seats re-done with piping by a previous owner. Paint is believed to be original. Oil pan and valve covers are black powder coated. Radiator has been rebuilt. New proper NOS Weber carb as well as NOS distributor cap and wires. New Spax shocks all around. Custom stainless steel performance exhaust purchased through British TVR expert Andrew Gray is 2 years old. All gauges and electrics work – even the clock! Spotless engine bay. Car completely disassembled for restoration, have all original parts from car expect front window shield, ( which is sourced from Ford manufacturers and is still available). Car ran well when disassembled twenty years ago, kept in heated garage for all that time. Part of restoration work completed, body and frame media blasted and frame epoxy painted, transmission and rear differential rebuilt by local Triumph repair shop. Body and frame appear to have not been in any accidents. Engine currently on mobile stand, included. Many new parts already purchased, head liner, clutch and pressure plate, brake and clutch rebuilt kits, frame bushings. Bill of sale is good. Will not break up for parts.
