Out of the Woodwork 2023

Kalamazoo, MI: July 7-9, 2023

TVRCCNA this year is bringing Out of the Woodwork to the Midwest. We will be having Woodwork in conjuncton with the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Events at the Gilmore Car Museum. Located in the rolling hills outside Kalamazoo, MI, the collection contains over 400 cars. Started as a hobby in 1963 by Donald Gilmore, chairman of the Upjohn Company at the time, it has grown from 36 cars to over 400! It opened to the public in 1966 as a non-profit educational institution dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the automobile in America. It is situated on 90 acres outside Kalamazoo, MI and has a total of 190,000 square feet of exhibit space. It is housed in a recreated factory building from the turn of the century. It is within a historic campus of historic buildings including 8 restored barns, a working authentic 1940’s diner, a recreated 1930 Shell station and includes recreated dealerships for Franklin, Model A Ford, Lincoln, and Cadillac. There are nearly 3 miles of paved roads, on which antique cars as well as the Museum’s London Taxi, Checker Cab, Model T and London Double Decker bus can often be seen traveling around the grounds.

There are several dining options, the diner, indoor café, and several food vendors.

Be sure to pack your chair!

Cars are laid out by Marque. There is an autoX track on the property, car games, valve cover racing, parts, and cars for sale. English High Tea will also be served.

The Mad Dogs and Englishmen Car show on Sunday draws several hundred cars and all English clubs participate. Here is a short clip from last year. Register for the show and Saturday Rally on their website: Mad Dogs & Englishmen.
